Every day I learn something about God and his people. It's incredible what He will show you when you have your eyes open. I just received a call from a sweet lady in our community who is "old enough to be my mother". Is that the right way to say she's enjoying her golden years? Anyway, she's a great lady. She inquired about "your little church you are starting". I explained what we were up to, that we would be using video teaching and that we'd be making some sacrifices of personal preference and giving up some traditional things, to reach those far from God. Her response was very positive and agreeable. "That's what we ought to be doing", were her words. How cool is that? This lady gets it. She's already on mission. Whether or not she ultimately finds TheBOD to be home, she gets it. God's got His hand on this gal and He's got great things in store for her future, no matter what season of life she's in. To me the golden years are like the fourth quarter of a ball game. It's the time to buckle down and finish this thing for the win. It seems the victory is so much sweeter when we are forced to work harder than ever in the fourth quarter. Coasting doesn't suit me very well. The victory is ours, let's make it sweet. I get more excited all the time when I think about who God is drawing to join us on mission. Whether I've already met them or not. I'm certainly learning to not limit Him with my preconceived notions. Don't blink guys... we are on the verge of something remarkable.

Johnny! Didn't know you blogged. Very nice. Good luck with your church. That's an awesome thing God's doing with you and your peeps.
