I'm ready for game day. Oh sure I'm ready for football too but, I am so ready to launch TheBOD.tv. Not that we are ready for everything, not by a long shot. It's just that I'm ready to go beyond theory and into practice. If you never had the privilege of living through "two-a-days" before football season, you missed out. Practice twice a day in 100 degree weather after a summer off is not for the faint of heart. Blood, sweat, tears, headaches, bruises and the coach spitting in your face because his nose it bumping your face mask as he chews you out for missing the block. Necessary, beneficial, valuable, but grueling and nothing like game day. I'm ready to feel the thrill, and pressure of knowing we will gather week after week. I'm ready to play the game. It's coming soon. Be ready.
Random thoughts:
- Remember the baby calf I told you was coming? She's here. Born tonight. Big, black, heifer. Momma and baby seem to be doing fine.
- We had a good day covering membership stuff. I talked too much, too long but it's kind of like two-a-days. Necessary and beneficial.
- Allison and I will be hosting a home group. We'll begin one week after launch on Sunday nights. We'll meet every other Sunday. We hope to have 3 or 4 groups in the church meeting by October.
- I love hot-dogs. Plain with mustard is just fine as long as the bun is fresh and even a little soggy. Just like the ones I had at the pool party for the students tonight at Candy and Dwayne's house. Thanks guys.
- I'm coming out of the closet. OK, here it is.... I have some goats. OK, there, I said it. They're really cute. So if you want to bring the kids up for a real petting zoo, we are open for business. Wear shoes without much tread their "stuff" tends to stick in the cracks.
- LifeChurch is doing a series right now called "30 Days To Live". The report from last weekend was 21,000 attendance and 375 salvation experiences. WOW and Cool. Great God, Great Glory.
I'm ready coach... put me in the game....

Well, I was enjoying this post up until the point I noticed the picture. Nothing wrong with a picture of Chris Fowler, Lee Corso, and Kirk Herbstreit... but that dadgum orange lettering at the bottom is hideous. I can't even spell the letters in this message I'm so disgusted.
Just kiddin'... Even though I would never be either one I'd rather be a fan of the Pokes than a Looner. Hope I don't offend any of your peeps Johnny :)...
And as always good luck with the BOD. I'll be watching... and I won't blink :)... GO HOGS!

I'll have to come out of the closet on this one too. I have called the HOGS. It was just the peer pressure, the energy of the crowd and the fear that the guy with a 0.3 blood alcohol level standing beside me would beat my brains out if it didn't raise my arms and whoooo in a key I haven't found on any musical instrument. GO HOGS GO!

Well, I think the photo is great and for those who know me you will not be surprised since I was there that day Chearing for my Pokes!
Have you every been outside the stadium when something happens that causes the crowd to stand to their feet and roar! Have you? I have and there is something wonderful that happens to you. It excites you, it makes you curious, you can't help but wonder what is going on and you so egerly want to be a part of it, so much so that you can hardly wait to get inside to discover what it is going on.
Johnny my prayer for you and The Bod is, just a God's People in Nehemiah 12 rejoiced and worshiped from the walls they rebuilt for all to hear and see what God had done, that there would be such a roar of God's people that the peoples of our area would hear and be drawn to Him.
Thanks for being willing to step outside of yourself and into the unknown of He who is faithful.
Play Ball!
