1. Started at 8:30am at the church. I love coming in on Sunday morning as the band is warming up. Charles and Bob meet me at the door. Brandi or Debbie have the coffee going. John on the sound board. Jason at the computer. People smiling and buzzing around. I love seeing God's people gather. I love seeing lives change for God's glory. I love being the bod.
2. Transparency. You may not realize how difficult it is for me to share parts of my journey with you. I'd rather play things close to the vest. But... for us to go to the place God is calling us, you and I, need to know where we stand. We are on the road to being broken. It will be difficult, even painful. We'll need each other. He is doing something IN YOU so He can do something THROUGH YOU.
3. Baccalaureate. TheBOD was mentioned. I am so thankful for our team of volunteers who work with the students. I am thankful God is using TheBOD to connect with the next generation. I look toward the day when we will partner with every church in the area to transform the culture for the glory of God.
4. Mega LifeGroup. It was beautiful in the park. The sun was shining, the kids enjoyed splashing in the ditch and the food was awesome. I am convinced more than ever that connection through small groups leads to huge life-change. Beautiful stories. Beautiful people. Beautiful children. Leaders and hosts the cost is high but the reward is great. It's how we were made to live. Doing life with others.
5. Kindness cards. We will be doing more and more "servant evangelism". Making it a priority to get the tools in the hands of BODers. Life should be lived ON MISSION and our staff is committed to equipping and empowering YOU to live ON MISSION.
6. Great idea. I love it when a great idea comes together. The Honduras video was done so well that some might not have noticed that it was done in house. Jason & Cassi get a BIG SHOUT OUT for excellent work. Honestly I was skeptical... but is was awesome.
Sorry Mom. She told me she had been enjoying the blog lately because it was "lite". Tonight some things just needed to be said so instead of Bud Light you get the dark stuff from Germany. Drink up and DON'T BLINK! WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF SOMETHING REMARKABLE.
