As I reflect on the week and the loss of my father-in-law, Paul Green, I have truly mixed emotions. The sadness of the loss will of course linger, yet the realization that he is finally free from the horrible disease called Alzheimer's brings some consolation. More than that however I, along with the family, rejoice in knowing that this humble servant of Christ is finally home. Tomorrow I will speak at the funeral and although the sadness of the day looms, the hope that is our Lord Jesus Christ wells up within my soul. I think about not only Paul but the great crowd of witnesses who have gone on and... I too can say... to live is Christ and to die is gain. The idea that the same Jesus that Paul the Apostle met and fell in love with is the very same Jesus that Paul Green, Johnny Roberts and YOU can know and love. Our hope is in the risen Lord. So run well my friend, finish the race... Just as Paul the Apostle and Paul Green have done... run well... the wonder of His glory lies just around the corner so... DON'T BLINK.
PS... to all of you have loved on Allison and our family, thank you so much. Your prayers, your thoughts, your gifts of food and notes... mean so much. Thank you for being The Body of Christ to us.
