Our students worked over the STORY of the "Wise Men" from the EAST who dropped by to see Jesus following a "star".  Some things I find interesting...

ONE:  How it is pronounced.  

TWO:  There were likely astrologer slash "magicians" from Babylon and knew historically of the "King" to be born from Daniel's time with them.

THREE:  They weren't kings but were likely "king-makers".  

FOUR: The Bible doesn't say there were THREE but that they brought three types of gifts.  The gifts likely have symbolic meaning.

FIVE: Jesus was at least 41 days old and up to 2 years old when they came to him at a "house".

Real Life Discipleship

This is what's on my radar right now. As a church we are growing and maturing. The next step is to move an increasingly larger number of people from the bleachers to the playing field. It almost feels like mini-reformation... Returning the ministry to the people. Cannot wait to see what 2012 brings... DON'T BLINK!!!
