Beyond any doubt this is the single best video produced in house at TheBOD.tv this year... and though I'm biased that is saying something.  I was moved to tears at the Christmas Eve Experience as we worshiped and celebrated our God.  

Big shout out to Jason Krohn, Josh Buchfink and their team for a job well done.  2011 brought many highs and lows for me personally and for our church.  This video tells the story of who we are... through it all we will point to Jesus Christ as the Light of the World.  He is supreme in all things and we worship Him... giving him our all... 2012 here we come... DON'T BLINK!

Serve The World Holidays 2011

WOW...Holiday Season is upon us and at TheBOD.tv that means being ON MISSION.  For Thanksgiving TheBOD will be providing food vouchers for families directly connected to our “Backpack” food program for children.  In addition we have created a list of food pantries and places that will provide hot meals, encouraging BODers to SERVE THE WORLD by serving these organizations.  Partnership... we can do more together than we can apart.

As a group we will be sending an “ARK” full of animals overseas for global impact.  This effort is in partnership with Heifer International.  The these animals provide life-giving sustainable support to people who simply need a "tool" to get started.  What a great way to give a gift that keeps on giving.

Then for Christmas we have committed to sponsor 200 children in the Oklahoma foster system.  Partnering with www.OKFosterWishes.com we will provide Christmas “Lifepacks” sharing the love, hope and joy of Christ this holiday season.  Love the holidays as they bring special focus and opportunities to... SERVE THE WORLD!

So let's go... Give till you feel it.  DON'T BLINK!

Week three of our Be-The-Bod Award recipients.  These guys are amazing.  Thankful for a church full of devoted followers of Christ giving it all for His glory.  Enjoy.

Rebuilding The Wall

Nehemiah seems to be on the radar lately.  We just finished a series CHANGE YOUR WORLD IN 52 DAYS from Lifechurch.tv.  Powerful stuff and I would say... go watch it if you haven't.  Right on the heels of that our Lifejournal.cc  reading plan is taking us through Nehemiah.  This week a principle jumps out of the Bible in chapter four.

Nehemiah is in the process of rebuilding the wall, opposition comes and forces them into defense.  in verse 16 Nehemiah says... "But from then on, only HALF of my men worked  (on the wall) while the other half stood guard with spears, shields, bows, and coats of mail."  Did you catch that HALF of the men were now guarding the workers so that the work could go forward.  

This lesson is priceless to me.  I get really frustrated with opposers and disrupters always trying to stop the work, distracting us from our mission... but understanding that, just like Nehemiah and his team, it comes with the territory of making advances we press ahead.  Any time you are doing a good work we all know that opposition will come.  NOW, knowing that, we plan ahead, build teams, count the costs and do our homework on the front end.  Expecting that as many as HALF of our team will be defending the home fort allowing others to advance the MISSION.  

Leader... it's worth it.  Keep pushing, keep discipling, keep fighting... build well and disciple leaders capable of defending the fort.  The wall must go up... it may take longer to equip and defend the team properly.  It's more work teaching, training, creating discipline and strategy... but in the end it's the right thing to do and the wall goes up... hopefully with less casualties.  

Remember... we are on the verge of something incredible so... DON'T BLINK...

Joplin - Ignite Church

Joplin Tornado Relief

TheBOD.tv is organizing a crew headed to Joplin. Community Bible Church is joining us in partnership.  We are leaving Roland Thursday morning at 5:30am putting us there between 8 & 8:30. We will stay and serve all day Thursday and Friday.  There will be a few returning Thursday night late.  After talking with Barry Worcester last night he indicated that they could use food, water and bodies.

IgniteChurch.tv is a part of the Lifechurch.tv Network and located in Joplin.  They were spared damage but are routinely feeding 200 people, with up to 600 in and around the area.  Providing shelter and support.  We will be taking two chest freezers full of meat (hamburger/hotdogs)... water, bread, totes, trashbags, clothing... I will try to post a report. In Barry's words... "It's bad... really bad... it will be a long term recovery." There was a distinct tone of urgency in his voice.

I believe this to be a great opportunity to support and empower the local church, to serve, bring hope and love on this community... sharing Christ love in a big way.

Convoy of Hope should be on site soon and is also partnering up with H2O and Ignite.  In this type of crisis things change literally by the hour.  We will to serve and be used where needed.  Please pray for safety, provision and that God would receive much glory in all we do.

Own the Mission

 

There is something special about the movement we are experiencing at TheBOD.tv and, through partnership, Lifechurch.tv.  It's connects, it engages, it calls people to rise up... to be on mission.  There is a passion and ownership of the mission by our partners unlike anything I have experienced.  

I've been looking for the words and the understanding of how this works for a while.. I'm slow... EPIPHANY! YES!  Or in my country boy lingo... "It dawned on me" that it's the difference in people "owning the church" and "owning the mission".  In many churches, well-intentioned people feel the need to protect and "own" the church.  This leads to legalism, restriction, back-biting, gossip, hurtful words, fussing and fighting... and eventually a guaranteed slow painful stagnation & death.  Often over the details that have absolutely nothing to do with being the church.  I'll skip the over-used fight about the color of the carpet illustration.. oops I just did it...  but the list is infinite as to what we could argue about and misses the point.  The point being, in doing so... WE MISS THE POINT.  The point is our mission.  Being the church... LOVING GOD, LOVING OTHERS AND GIVING OUR LIVES IN SERVICE TO GOD AND OTHERS.

We are the church and we own the mission... let me say that again so you get it... WE ARE THE CHURCH AND WE OWN THE MISSION... I love that.  It's liberating.  It frees us to fulfill our calling and leave the things of this earth, that will pass away, to the few who must carry the weight of the business side of things.  Their calling, sacrifice and service frees us to to be about the mission God has called us to.  For TheBOD.tv it's LEADING PEOPLE TO BECOME FULLY DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST.  

It is a movement of God and you are invited to play.  Soak in that... enjoy that... and then get to work.  I'm thanking God today for his call on our lives.  Enjoy the ride... we are the chosen few.  DON'T BLINK!

 

Johnny The Brave

This is the story of Johnny Teis.  A brave young man who's story has intersected with ours @thebod.tv.  I'll be posting more information and links as the story unfolds but for now... would you join us in prayer for "Johnny the Brave" tonight?  At 6:00pm CST hundreds will pause to pray for this young man and his family. 

Pray: 1. For HEALING.  Amanda, his mother, feels God has called her to this prayer and we will faithfully join her.  2. For the trip the Teis family is making with the ball team this week.  Our church is partnering with SANCTUARY to help make this an amazing time in Branson for this family.  3. Pray for those who are traveling to serve this family.  Jeff, Johnna, Jenna, Casie, Camryn, Cambry, Zenda, Rick, Jackie, Lynda, and a host of others.  

We believe in the power of prayer and we believe our God is able to do all things... DON'T BLINK.

 

 

Back to Christ...

Amazing weekend @TheBOD.tv... 18 baptisms done by 12 different people.  Here is Kim's story.  In her words... "... he lead me back to Christ and that's the best thing ever."  Agreed Kim... it is in fact the best thing ever.
