Nobel Prize

In a society where words mean more than actions the Nobel Prize becomes less noble and less of a prize.  The favorite to win this year actually did something besides talk.  Fortunately this type of hero doesn't serve to receive accolades from the public.  There is a much higher calling at work.  Wonder if Obama will invite him over for a beer?

Man's man...

Met another Man's man today.  I have a confession.... CONFESSIONS OF A PASTOR ... sorry... anyway here it is.  I've been a little nervous about meeting Craig Groeschel.  You're probably thinking, come on Johnny, he's just a guy like anybody else, right?  This nervous wasn't about some awe-struck, oh-my-gosh this is Craig Groeschel....  This was... what if I don't like the guy, what-if-he's-a-jerk, what if he's one of those you're-wasting-my-time-I'm-really-important-and-wish-you'd-get-out-of-my-way guys?  What if I've started a church and the main speaker is a great speaker on screen and a jerk off screen?  Now do you see why I was nervous?  Well.... the report is in.  I shook his hand yesterday, and it was a "Man's Man" handshake.  We spent a few minutes talking about TheBOD.tv, The Network, and I capitalized on the moment to thank him for all he has done in providing OPEN as a FREE resource.  He was a man's man fully engaged.  Locked on and soaking in what's being said.  You could see the wheels spinning.  Cool thing is... he had every reason to be distracted.  This was at the close of a full day, behind schedule, and headed to another event.  Yet, fully engaged.  You know what else.  I like him.  You would too.  He's the guy you'd like to go to the game with, play the game with, or beat at something... anything.  He's a competitor as well.  He speaks today at the December Event.  The entire LifeChurch.tv staff will be there, and they've invited us (Network Churches) to the dance...  I can't wait to hear what he will say... even more so now that I know he's a Man's Man.
