Serve The World Holidays 2011

WOW...Holiday Season is upon us and at TheBOD.tv that means being ON MISSION.  For Thanksgiving TheBOD will be providing food vouchers for families directly connected to our “Backpack” food program for children.  In addition we have created a list of food pantries and places that will provide hot meals, encouraging BODers to SERVE THE WORLD by serving these organizations.  Partnership... we can do more together than we can apart.

As a group we will be sending an “ARK” full of animals overseas for global impact.  This effort is in partnership with Heifer International.  The these animals provide life-giving sustainable support to people who simply need a "tool" to get started.  What a great way to give a gift that keeps on giving.

Then for Christmas we have committed to sponsor 200 children in the Oklahoma foster system.  Partnering with www.OKFosterWishes.com we will provide Christmas “Lifepacks” sharing the love, hope and joy of Christ this holiday season.  Love the holidays as they bring special focus and opportunities to... SERVE THE WORLD!

So let's go... Give till you feel it.  DON'T BLINK!

 

Blog Post: On Mission In Our City

I've been processing and praying over the future of how our church will impact our area, not only taking the Gospel to the area but also being the hands and feet of Christ in tangible ways.  Just around the corner is a time of intense focus on this area that will see us form a team of people committed to a vision of TRANSFORMING OUR CULTURE FOR CHRIST.  If you want a direct piece of the action let me know, keep your ears and eyes open and begin to pray that God would take the lead on this and guide us to His will... Here is a vision video from Austin Stone Church.  I believe God will see us some day with similar values and impact... The local church IS THE HOPE OF THE WORLD... PERIOD.  Don't Blink...

Understanding Missional Partnership (video)

Cool simple illustration of what it might look like for the "Simple Church" to empower people to be the church and live our their faith in the real world.  This would scare the pants off of a pastor of a traditional church where the goal is/was to bring as many people into the building as many times as possible and measure spiritual maturity by the same token.  At TheBOD.tv we fight HARD against busy-ing people with church activities and do everything we can encourage them to BE the church where they live.  Our times together are valuable and priceless as we come together in community but Christ has called us to be on mission in the world twenty-four-seven.  The tension between gathering and being the church will never end.  The gravitational pull toward a traditional measuring stick can at times be strong but as this video illustrates the rewards will be immeasurably priceless.

Camp Perfect Wings 2010
